Table Two This table shows that through: (1) Stricter utilization review (2) Focused peer review and (3) Use of conservative care, Podiatry Plan reduced the cost per beneficiary while allowing the number of patient/doctor encounters to increase. Over a 10 year period, patient visits increased more than 300% while the total costs of these visits increased less than 3% per year.
